Potential for the Use of Deconfliction Techniques and Algorithms Developed in the Civil Domain to the Management of Autonomous Vehicles

چکیده

This paper summarises the current state of the art and future intentions for deconfliction of civil aircraft. The paper then describes the relationship between Pilot and Controller to ensure the safe navigation of all aircraft operating in the same airspace. The paper focuses on 4D profile prediction and its use for what is known in Civil Aviation as Medium Term Conflict Detection/Alert. The paper also considers possible application of this technology to the mission phase of operation of Autonomous Vehicles (AV) and explores its impact on both Civil and Military domains.
